SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
1. Demonstrates proficiency in operating and trouble-shooting equipment used in the EKG lab.
2. Prep patients and apply holter monitors.
3. Restocks work area with necessary supplies. Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
4. Assists with compiling bi-weekly and monthly data.
5. Respond to stat orders as received.
6. Demonstrates proficiency in performing routine EKGs, Signal Averaged EKGs, Rhythm Strips, and EKGs with and without the magnet.
7. Provides coverage for weekends and holidays.
8. Executes departmental procedure for clerical processing of EKGs.
EXPERIENCE
Required - Six months experience in patient care in a hospital
Preferred - Six months experience performing EKGs
EDUCATION
Required - High School Diploma
Preferred - High School Diploma, Medical Training
LICENSURE:
Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
